Doris Elizabeth Dyess, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, passed away on March 16, 2024, in Franklin, Texas at 86 years. She was born August 17, 1937 in Carrollton, Illinois to Arthur "Art" and Ruby (Driver) Carter. After retirement, she held official and unofficial jobs in the local VFW axuilliary. Her final showcasing her diligence and commitment to her work.

For more than two decades, Doris called Buffalo home, immersing herself in the warmth of the community. Her presence will be sorely missed by all who knew her. She was an active member of the local VFW Auxiliary, the EE Club, and Military Families of Leon County where she built lasting friendships and contributed to causes that she held dear.

In her leisure time, Doris found solace in pursuing her passion for sewing and quilting, creating beautiful pieces that reflected her creativity and attention to detail. Her talent was unmatched, and her creations will continue to be cherished by those fortunate enough to have received them.
