Mrs. Judy K. (Davis) Harris passed away peacefully at home with family on Sunday, October 7, 2018 in Buffalo, Texas at the age of seventy-one.

Mrs. Harris is survived by her husband, Bobby Ray Harris of Buffalo; children, daughter, Tamara Ann Harris of Huntsville, son, Dana Royce Harris & wife, Chanda Harris of Dawson; grandchildren, grandson, Grant Harris of Bryan, granddaughter, Rylee Hawkins of Dawson; siblings, sister, Cheryl Davis Waddell & husband, Tim Waddell of Pearland, brother, Johnny Burl Davis & wife, Sharla Davis of Mexia, as well as, dear friends, Danna Lynn Reeder, Kathy Gilliam, Gwen Lee, Butch & Holly Smith and Allen & Brandi Stevens. She is preceded in death by her mother, Marjorie Ann (Johnson) Davis of Mexia, Texas on May 1st, 2005 and father, Woody Burl Davis of Mexia, Texas on June 22nd, 2001.

Mrs. Harris was born on March 24th, 1947 in Mexia, Texas to Woody Burl Davis & Marjorie Ann (Johnson) Davis. She graduated from W.B. Ray High School in Corpus Christi, Texas in 1965. She attended Sam Houston State University where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Teaching in 1969 and then went on to get her Masters of Education degree in 1979. She married Bobby Ray Harris, of Buffalo, Texas, on May 24th, 1969. After moving to Mexia, Texas, she began working for Coolidge ISD as a teacher. She moved to Buffalo, Texas with her family in 1975 and began teaching special education at Leon ISD before moving on to Buffalo ISD to teach 1st and 5th grades. Judy was a teacher for just over twenty-nine years prior to her retirement.

Mrs. Harris is remembered by her family as a kind, patient, and loving mother and wife who encouraged her children in any way possible. Mrs. Harris enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren’s numerous academic and sports activities throughout the years. Mrs. Harris could always be found in the stands with a video camera in hand.

Mrs. Harris was a generous and talented lady that enjoyed making crafts for herself, as well as, family and friends. She was a loving individual who loved to travel. She doted on her grandchildren and was known for loading them up without hesitation for trips. She was an active and dedicated member of the Miracle Christian Center in Buffalo, Texas and often volunteered at numerous fundraisers.

Mrs. Harris will be remembered by all that knew her as an angel on earth.

Funeral services for Mrs. Harris will take place at 2 P.M., Thursday, October 11, 2018 at the Miracle Christian Center in Buffalo, Texas. Pastor Lloyd Lane will officiate the service. Mrs. Harris will be laid to rest in the Buffalo Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 10th from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M. at the Walters’ Buffalo Funeral Home in Buffalo, Texas.

Arrangements are under the direction of Walters’ Buffalo Funeral Home.
