Margie A Cass

Funeral services for Margie A. Cass, age 93, of Oakwood, Texas have been set for 11:00 AM on Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at the Walters’ Buffalo Funeral Home in Buffalo, Texas. A visitation is scheduled that same morning, from 9:30 AM until service time. Father Mark Chambers, Margie’s grandson, will officiate.

A graveside committal service will be held 10 am, Thursday, November 7, 2019 at Conroe Memorial Park, 1703 Porter Rd., Conroe, TX 77301.

Margie Cass was born May 13, 1926 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma. Her parents were Claude and Ruth (Richardson) Main. She was a secretary in Law Enforcement. She was a Christian and worshiped God through the Presbyterian faith. In the early 1970’s, she and her husband, “June” Cass moved from Houston to Oakwood in Leon County. Margie was a very active woman, enjoying dancing such as square dancing, line dancing and ballroom dancing. She was an RV enthusiast and camped and traveled extensively. Margie passed away on November 1, 2019 in Tyler, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents; an infant daughter; grandson, David Chambers and daughter, Kay Strohbehn and her husband, “June” Cass.

Surviving family includes her son, Bryan Keith Ellis of Oakwood; daughter and son-in-law, Claudia and Paul Downing of Montgomery, Texas; four grandchildren, Mark Chambers and his wife, Ella, Brittany Downing, Martin Ellis and Morgan Ellis and two great grandchildren, Calvin Chambers and Emily Chambers.

Arrangements are under the direction of Walters’ Buffalo Funeral Home.
