Mary Kathryn Welborn

Mary Kathryn "Kathy" Welborn was born February 15, 1959, in Bakersfield, California to Ventura Jimenez & Betty Pharis. She received her associate’s degree in Childcare Development and worked at numerous daycare centers in the Houston area for forty years.

Kathy had lived in Willis for the past twenty years and attended The Ark Church in Conroe, Texas. She enjoyed going to the casinos and especially, she and her husband’s yearly camping trips to Colorado. While in Colorado, Kathy loved to fish for trout in the many beautiful lakes surrounding the camping area. Kathy also loved the color purple, which happened to be the color of the birthstone for February, Kathy’s birth month. Most of all, Kathy deeply loved all of her family and enjoyed spending her time with them.

Kathy unexpectedly passed away April 27, 2020, in a Conroe hospital. She was preceded in death by both of her parents; father-in-law, Billie Welborn and sister-in-law, Anita Welborn.

Surviving family members include husband of forty-three years, Robert Welborn of Willis; son, Daniel Shane Welborn of Willis; daughter, Robbyn Welborn of Willis; three half-brothers; two half-sisters; grandchildren, Nicholas & Brayden Welborn of Willis; sister-in-law, Debie Hernandez (Mark) of Highlands and sister-in-law, Gwendolyn Welborn of Arkansas and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

Graveside services for Kathy will be held 11 A.M., Friday, May 1, 2020 at Welborn Cemetery, 14414 CR 223, Buffalo, TX 75831. Wesley Henson will officiate the service. A viewing will take place Thursday, April 30th from 10 A.M. to 8 P.M. at Walters’ Buffalo Funeral Home, Buffalo, Texas.
