Paul E. Kennedy, 75, passed away in the early morning hours of May 10, 2020, in The Woodlands, Texas following a lengthy illness. He was born June 8, 1944, in Houston, Texas to Marvin Kennedy & Leo J. (Rhodes) Olson. Paul served his country in the U.S. Army and married his sweetheart, Annie “Ann” Gurka, May 13, 1967.

Much of Paul’s life was centered around his work. He was an entrepreneur, having owned numerous successful businesses including Custom Poultry and Lone Star Grill and Cantina, both in Fairfield. Paul was most proud of his all inclusive premier event venue, The Depot X, in Fairfield.

Paul was an avid horseshoe thrower. He helped establish the Tri-County Horseshoe Club and had competed in the Houston Livestock Show where he won the title of Reserve Champion one year. Paul considered the friends he made during these events and competitions his family. He also enjoyed spending time with his own family. When Paul’s boys were younger he was an active participant in their sports programs and helped coach several of their teams.

Paul and his wife had lived in Buffalo since 1988, coming from Conroe, Texas. He was a member of St. Kateri Tekakwitha Catholic Church in Buffalo.

Paul is survived by his wife of nearly fifty-three years, Ann Kennedy of Buffalo; sons, Michael Kennedy (Debbie) of Buffalo and Greg Kennedy (Bridgette) of Montgomery; brothers, Allan Kennedy of Buffalo and Lee Kennedy of Mississippi and grandchildren, Brendan, Tyler, Taylor, Hayden and Marissa.

A rosary followed by funeral services will take place 10 A.M., Thursday, May 14, 2020, at The Depot X in Fairfield, Texas. Graveside services will be held later that day at 3 P.M. in St. Leo the Great Catholic Cemetery, east of Centerville in the Pleasant Springs Community. A public visitation will be held Wednesday, May 13th from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. at The Depot X in Fairfield.
