Graveside services for Richard Howlett, Sr., 59, of Iola, Texas will be held 2 P.M., Friday, October 1, 2021 at Buffalo Cemetery, Buffalo, Texas. Bro. Johnny Varetto will officiate the service. A visitation will take place prior to the service from 10 A.M. to 1:30 P.M. at Walters’ Buffalo Funeral Home, Buffalo, Texas.

Richard Vance Howlett, Sr. was born November 22, 1961 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Kenneth Robert & Rikky Sue (Plant) Howlett. He served his country in the U.S. Army and was the owner and operator of his own trucking business. Richard had lived all over the state of Texas including McAllen, Bedias and Iola. He was Baptist in faith and enjoyed horseback riding, motorcycles, hunting and especially salt water fishing. Richard passed away September 24, 2021 in College Station, Texas. He was preceded in death by father, Kenneth Howlett; step-father, Charles Kenneth Alfred and brother, Mark Allen Alfred.

Surviving family members include mother, Rikky Sue Howlett of Yoakum; son, Richard Howlett, Jr. (Terry Hooper) of Iola; daughter, Christina Marie Howlett of Mission; brothers, Kenneth Robert Howlett (Dawn) of Wisconsin, Royal Gene Howlett of Liberty, Shane Davis Howlett of San Angelo and Charles Matthew Padgett Alfred (Terrie) of Yoakum; sister, Mitsy Lea Lang of Iola and grandchildren, Wyatt Vance Howlett, Kelly Hooper and Maxamus Lee Schneider. Richard is also survived by girlfriend, Renee Stacy of Bedias and numerous other nieces, nephews and extended family.

Pallbearers: Jacob Bullard, Marcus Bullard, Glenn Miller, Shane Howlett, Michael Brasher, Josh Jones

Arrangements are under the direction of Walters’ Buffalo Funeral Home, Buffalo, Texas.
