With heartfelt sadness and a spirit of celebration, we announce the passing of Donna Sue Grizzle, who departed this life on November 25, 2025. Born on November 7, 1965, to Carol D. Ward and Lillie Mae (Walters) Thompson in Little Rock, Arkansas, Donna was a shining light in the lives of those fortunate enough to know her. She spent her childhood in Greenbriar, Arkansas, where her love for family and the great outdoors flourished.

For over thirty years, Donna made her home in Leon County, having moved from Conway, Arkansas. She dedicated her professional life as a dietician manager for several nursing homes in the area, including Copper Creek Nursing Home in Buffalo and Legacy Nursing Home in Corsicana, where she touched countless lives with her compassion and care.

Donna was not only a dedicated mother to her children but she was also a loving grandmother who cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren. Fishing trips, laughter, and family gatherings were some of her favorite ways to create lasting memories.

An avid collector, Donna had a special passion for gathering rocks, which she would tumble and polish to perfection, reflecting her attention to detail and appreciation for the beauty in the simple things.

Donna was preceded in death by both of her parents and siblings, Rose Harris and Bobby Gayle Ward. Surviving family members include children, Dustin Sweeney (Kassy) of North Zulch, Chris Sweeney of Buffalo and Alex Grizzle of Buffalo; brothers, Floyd Ward (Sandy) of Mayflower, Arkansas and Rick Ward (Gail) of Muskogee, Oklahoma; and grandchildren, Brooklynn Ann Sweeney, Raeleigh Sweeney, Karleigh Sweeney, Everleigh Sweeney, Cooper Sweeney, Lettie Jo Sweeney and Rowdy "RJ" McCormick Jr., as well as numerous other extended family and friends.

To honor Donna's life and legacy, a visitation will be held at Walters' Buffalo Funeral Home, Buffalo, Texas on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M., allowing friends and family to come together in remembrance and celebration. A funeral service will follow on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at 11 A.M., also at the funeral home, where final goodbyes will be offered to Donna. Bro. Johnny Veretto will officiate the service. Following the service, Donna will be laid to rest next to her mother in Buffalo Cemetery, Buffalo, Texas.
