Dyron Kirk Smith

Dyron Kirk Smith, a loving father, devoted spouse, and hardworking truck driver, passed away on September 2, 2023, at the age of 55. He was born on October 20, 1967, in Plainview, Texas, to Don Smith and Virginia Kay (Beats) Jackson.

Dyron grew up in a small town and found joy in the simple pleasures of life. As a child, Dyron found joy in riding dirt bikes, embracing the thrill of adventure and the freedom of the open road. The highlight of his career was working as a dedicated truck driver for Neat Industries, where he made many friends and left a lasting impact.

Outside of work, Dyron had a passion for cars and loved spending his free time tinkering with his cherished '78 Chevy Nova. He found great delight in attending car shows and exhibiting his vehicle for others to admire. As a lifelong UT fan, Dyron's enthusiasm for his team was unmatched, and he enjoyed cheering them on during every game.

One of Dyron's favorite pastimes was engaging in handyman work. He possessed a natural talent for fixing things and took pride in his ability to help others with various projects. Dyron was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

Above all, family was the center of Dyron's life. He adored his children and treasured every moment he spent with them. Dyron was a doting grandfather who showered his grandchildren with love and attention. He valued their presence in his life and cherished the memories they created together.

In his leisure time, Dyron enjoyed going on cruises, exploring new destinations, and experiencing different cultures. During his morning routine you would not see him without three or four cups of coffee, providing comfort and a much-needed energy boost.

Dyron was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Art Beats and Billye Beats Roden; paternal grandparents, Buster and Myrna Smith and step-sister, Misti Jackson.

Dyron will be deeply missed by his wife of twenty-six years, Christie Smith; mother, Kay Jackson; step-father, Jimmy Jackson; father, Don Smith; son and daughter-in-law, Jeremy and Amy Williams; daughter and son-in-law, Kelsey and Thomas Grejtak; son, Kirk Smith; son, Nickolas Smith; daughter and son-in-law, Haleigh and Givan Rhodes; grandchildren, Jasper, Arielle, TJ, Kaitlynn and Jacob; sisters, Marci Smith-Anderson and Brandy Anderson; nieces, Mandy Anderson, Kaylee Anderson and Loomis Anderson; nephew, Jonathan Anderson; mother-in-law, Carolyn Williams; pets, Cassie, Moonshine and Boots; and grand-dogs, Otis, Sissy, Bandit and Cookie; as well as many extended family and friends.
