Obituary

Funeral services for Gwendolyn Lee, age 74, will be held 11 A.M., Monday, December 23, 2019, at Walters’ Buffalo Funeral Home in Buffalo, Texas. Rev. Lloyd Lane, of Miracle Christian Center in Buffalo, and Rev. Gary P. Stutz, of Chapel of the Hills Assembly of God Church in Centerville, will officiate the service. Interment will follow in Buffalo Cemetery. The Lee family will receive friends Sunday, December 22nd from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M. at the funeral home.

Gwendolyn Janice Lee was born March 31, 1945, in Houston, Texas. Her parents were Nolan Ray & Lena May (Gilbreath) Bane. She moved to Buffalo from Houston in 1975 and had also lived in Mt. Pleasant for ten years. Gwendolyn loved gardening and could make beautiful floral arrangements. She also loved to sew, fish and hunt. Gwendolyn enjoyed all animals, especially dogs. She passed away Friday, December 20, 2019, at her home near Buffalo. Gwendolyn was preceded in death by both of her parents; husband, B.E. “Gene” Lee; brother, Clarence Ray Bane and special friend, Judy Harris.

Surviving family members include sons, Thomas Jefferson “Bubba” Ayers (Teresa) of North Richland Hills and Timothy James “Timmy” Ayers (Tammy) of Buffalo; daughter, Tonya Janice Champion (Bob) of Buffalo; step-daughters, Jean Davis of Buffalo, Nancy Pursch of Teague and Lynn McGonagill of Mt. Pleasant and step-son, Jimmy Lee of Buffalo. She is also survived by grandchildren, National Ross Champion (Nicole), Ima Derby Champion, Taylor Paige Ayers, Matthew Jeffery Ayers (Halie), Sabrina McClenley and Jessy Champion; great-grandchildren, Reinen Coy Champion, Oaklynn Paige Ayers and Bailey Johnson, as well as numerous step-grandchildren.

Arrangements are under the direction of Walters’ Buffalo Funeral Home in Buffalo, Texas.
