Mary Francis "Polly" Mangrum

Mary Francis "Polly" (White) Mangrum passed away peacefully in her sleep April 25, 2023. She was proceeded in death by her parents, Richard and Annie (Neely) White; husband, Willie Mangrum; daughter, Roxann Maxey; son, Steven Mangrum; and sister, Kathrine West.


Polly was born, November 21, 1933 in Buffalo, Texas, making her the fourth generation born in Leon County after her third great-grandfather settled land in the county. Later, after moving around due to her father's work, the family settled in Dallas, moving into the home across the street from Polly's husband to be. Polly & Willie celebrated sixty-eight years of marriage prior to his passing.


Polly leaves behind her son, James Mangrum (Mary); daughter, Donna Reid (Kenny); son-in-law, James Maxey; eight grandchildren; Amy Blair (James), Stephanie Fortner, Jason Mangrum (Amanda), Jamie Lanier (Robert), Mary Seaton (Robert), Justin Mangrum (Stephanie), James Mangrum (Marissa) and Christine Reid; eight great-grandchildren, Tristyn, Gavyn, Clayton, Landon, Abby, Bryson, Kyanne and Brooks; four step-great-grandchildren, Skylar, Issac, Addison and Riley; along with many nieces and nephews and one sister, Hazel Wong.


A graveside service honoring Polly's life will be held 12 P.M. at Buffalo Cemetery, Buffalo, Texas. A visitation for Polly will take place prior to the service from 10 A.M. to service time at Walters' Buffalo Funeral Home, Buffalo, Texas. Bro. Johnny Veretto will officiate the service.


Pallbearers: Jason Mangrum, Justin Mangrum, James Michael Mangrum, Gavyn Phillips, Clayton Lanier, Landon Lanier


Arrangements are under the direction of Walters' Buffalo Funeral Home, Buffalo, Texas.
