Roy Don Kuykendall, a loving husband, devoted father, and hardworking truck driver, passed away on October 16, 2023, in Madisonville, Texas. Born on September 9, 1959, in Midland, Texas, Don was a proud resident of Leon County for the past 30 years.


Don's life was rooted in his work as a truck driver, a career that he held dear to his heart. From the open road to the honking of horns, he found purpose in his profession and truly enjoyed the freedom it afforded him. His dedication was unwavering, and his fellow truckers fondly remember his warm smile and helpful nature.


Beyond his work, Don cherished his family above all. The love he shared with his wife, Mary Kuykendall, was truly special and served as a testament to their enduring bond. Together, they built a beautiful life, filled with love and cherished memories. Don was a pillar of strength and support for his entire family.


Don's love extended to his grandchildren, who were the apples of his eye. He delighted in spending time with them, whether it was playing in the backyard, telling stories, or sharing laughter over family meals. His presence brought joy and warmth to their lives, and he will forever hold a special place in their hearts.


Don was preceded in death by both of his parents and sister, Loismarie Langley. Those left to cherish his memory include wife, Mary Kuykendall of Buffalo; son, Roy Don Kuykendall, Jr. (Ashley) of Waller; daughters, Jonna Corpman of Waco, Jorie Kuykendall (Paul) of Waco, Lacie Hewitt (Josh) of San Angelo and Shelby Bell (Matt) of Orla; brothers, Jimmy Kuykendall (Kay) of Midland, Terry Kuykendall (Kelly) of Midland and Tommy Kuykendall (Diane) of Midland; sister, Debbie Kuykendall of Midland and beloved grandchildren, Seth, Cory, Ryan, Hailey, Abigail, Hailie, Jayden, Kayden, Skylynn and Westyn, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.


In honor of Don's life and legacy, a ceremony to celebrate his life and offer remembrances will take place on a future date, allowing friends and family to gather and share their cherished memories.


In this time of sorrow, let us come together as a community to uplift and support one another. We extend our deepest condolences to Mary and the entire Kuykendall family during this difficult time. May Don's soul find eternal peace, and may his memory forever live on in the hearts of those he loved and touched.


Rest easy, Don Kuykendall. You will be dearly missed.
